Background:
Apprenticeships are nationally designed courses that enable young people to learn on the job, build up knowledge and skills, gain qualifications and earn money all at the same time. New College Stamford, as the learning provider, has a vital role to play to ensure the success of the Apprenticeships. This is a project funded through the European Social Fund and is aimed at helping unemployed young adults (16-19) who, despite a number of on-line application submissions to the National Apprenticeship Vacancy Matching Service (NAVMS), have failed to secure an apprenticeship. In essence the three post holders’ roles will require them to work (primarily 1-1) with you adults; identify suitable apprenticeship vacancies available on the NAVMS and help the young adult complete high quality on-line applications. Thereafter they will support the young adult with any follow up interview preparation and specific employer intelligence information. There will also be an element of employer engagement to try to source new apprenticeship places with employers. (3 posts available) – some flexibility re coverage required 1.South Lincolnshire and the East Coast 2.Lincoln, West Lindsey and Newark 3.Nottinghamshire (excluding City)

Objective:

To engage young people in training for their future career through supporting and encouraging 16 – 19 year olds in securing an Apprenticeship by guiding them through the application process with short targeted interventions. These roles will also aim to develop links with local employers to increase the number of Apprenticeship places available to young people, increasing the potential routes for young people to gain qualifications and skills, and therefore the continued social and economic development of the region.
