day event or a youth activity, learn some tools and techniques to make your
activity successful and less stressful!
Fund Bidding – get the tools to write successful funding bids, essential
for the not-for-profit sector and perfect for groups who need to fundraise.
CV Skills – a workshop that looks at what makes a good CV, what should
and shouldn’t be included and general hints and tips. No CV? No problem, the
facilitators of this workshop can work with young people to create one.
Job Hunting and Job Applications – get support in looking for a job to
suit you and learn some hints and tips when filling in the application form.
Interview techniques – develop some skills to help you to be more
confident in interviews and learn more about what the interviewer is looking
for.
Facilitation – working in a group and need someone to make sure everybody
has a chance to contribute? This workshop gives you useful skills to ensure your
team works well together.
Time Management – this workshop enables you to think about how you manage
your time and ways to improve how you use your time effectively
Sustainable Lifestyles – Gets you thinking about how you live and where
you live. Encourages good citizenship, looks at the local and global economy
e.g. buying locally/ buying fair trade and thinking about the environment e.g.
saving energy.
Environmental Awareness – find out about environmental issues, learn how
you can take steps to become more environmentally friendly how to conduct mini
audits of your community building.
This is a flexible nationally recognised award. Choose a skill to develop through your volunteering and collect evidence of how you do this. With support you’ll produce a unique record of your achievement that will show colleges, universities and employers what you’re capable of.
Act by Right takes you through five stages of a journey to develop skills and knowledge and to encourage active involvement. There is accreditation available for those who complete the 50 hours of activities or the workbook can simply be used as a useful tool for ideas and things to do.
